Monthly General Meeting:
When: Wednesday. Oct 21, 2026.
Where: Fraserview Community Hall, 22610 116th Avenue, Maple Ridge.
Time: Doors open at 6.30 PM, and meeting starts at 7.00 PM.

October Guest Speaker: Adrian Avendaño, Executive Director, Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver.
Adrian is an environmental technician and interdisciplinary artist based in Surrey - Vancouver, Canada. He holds a Diploma of Technology from BCIT’s Forest and Natural Areas Management program, which has enabled him to work in many public institutions around the Lower Mainland. In 2020-2023, Adrian served as the Stewardship Program Manager at Still Moon Arts Society. In this position, he did significant work with engaging community stewardship in Renfrew Ravine Park, Renfrew Community Park, and Still Creek. In addition, Adrian created an invasive plant management plan for the Government of Chile’s – Ministry of Agriculture: National Forest Corporation in Torres del Paine National Park in 2016.
The Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver is a non-profit society that is working to improve the management of invasive species in the Metro Vancouver region.

Our Annual Plant Sale was another huge success! The diversity and selection of plants that arrived this year was absolutely amazing. Heartfelt thank you to all our incredible volunteers - not the just the people on the day of the sale, but also the many members who spent countless hours dividing, potting, watering, labelling, hauling and lovingly caring for plants for weeks and even months beforehand.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated delicious goodies! The amount of time, materials and love that went into all those baked goods was so appreciated!
